SEMA Preview: Wraptivo Honda CR-Z Type-F

October 22 2010 | Jerry Garrett

Irvine, CA - Wraptivo™ will produce our very first in house SEMA car in the form of a 2011 Honda CR-Z sport hybrid concept build dubbed “Type-F”.The goal for the Wraptivo™ Honda CR-Z Type-F Concept is to evoke the notion of fun, which lies at the core of the CR-Z DNA while also giving a nod to the spirit and Honda heritage of the CR-Z.   The Type-F concept will feature a sportier aesthetic over stock with the use of a combination of Honda Accessories Aero pieces and along with other aero components from Rando Japan. The aero package will be complemented with a design package created to give this concept a special uniqueness yet with a familiarity that is still unmistakably Honda. The vehicle will be wrapped with Wraptivo™ Matte Black and Carbon Black Film while small accents will be left in gloss black.  The CR-Z will act as a canvas for Wraptivo to showcase its vehicle wrap options and give customizers a preview of how they can take advantage of this technology as a new way to protect their factory paint while also having the ability to easily change the look of their vehicle.

To increase performance we are looking to develop a supercharger system, suspension package, an ECU Tune, exhaust system, and other components with the help of our technology partners: Honda Accessories, Tein , HKS, BF Goodrich, Volk Racing, Hondata, and others to be confirmed at a later time.   Interior enhancements will be subtle but functional. Recaro seats, a sport shift knob, and alcantara panels will be implemented to give the driver a sportier experience for fun filled excursions.

The  completed Wraptivo™ Honda CR-Z Type-F will closely resemble the concept rendering created for us by automotive digital illustrator Jon Sibal (JonSibal.com) though as the Type-F Concept is still in the early stages of production the final version may differ from the illustration slightly.

The Wraptivo Type-F Concept will make its official debut at the 2010 SEMA Show in the American Honda exhibit while the Wraptivo designer car wraps by Meguiar’s product line will also be launched at the same global event.  Visit booth 24643 (in center hall) to learn more about Wraptivo and the American Honda booth to see the Wraptivo CR-Z. From there it is our intention to test all of our performance upgrades by entering the CR-Z Type-F in Source Interlink’s Super Lap Battle time trial event held the week after SEMA’s conclusion.

Updates on the Wraptivo Honda CR-Z Type-F concept will be available on the official Wraptivo™ twitter page (twitter.com/Wraptivo), Facebook page (facebook.com/WraptivoFB), as well as on MotorworldHype.com, the official online media partner for the Wraptivo™ Honda CR-Z Type-F Concept.  There will also be a feature article and pictorial in an upcoming issue of Import Tuner magazine.

Image Fuel Now Available for Every Budget, Introduced in New Collections at SEMA Nov. 1-5

Irvine, Calif. (November X, 2010) – Do you want to transform your vehicle from bland to bold without the commitment (or cost) of a full body paint job? Meguiar’s®, the leader in surface care technology, announced today the expansion of its popular Wraptivo line of designer car wraps to include two distinct divisions that provide accessibility and affordability for almost any budget. The company will unveil Wraptivo Universal and Wraptivo Individual at the 2010 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show Nov. 1-5 in Las Vegas, with an official retail launch and pricing announcement early next year.

Both lines of designer car wraps provide enthusiasts a unique way to personalize their vehicles using various sized, textured and colored wraps. A year after extensive market research and analyzing the feedback from Wraptivo’s 2009 SEMA preview, Meguiar’s created two separate product lines that would address both enthusiast and consumer needs.

Wraptivo Universal is a series of retail pack kits that will be available in the first quarter of 2011 through select key retail accounts. Various-sized kits come can be used to accentuate interior components, exterior trim or other select areas on vehicles. This line features the ‘Textured Collection’ which includes different shades of carbon fibers (black, grey and white), brushed metals (aluminum and titanium) and woods (ebony wood grey and ebony wood brown).

Also available is the ‘Flame Collection,’ which was designed by Automotive Artist Jon Sibal. These partial wrap kits include three different flame patterns offered in a variety of colors. Wraptivo Universal can be applied by the do-it-yourself types or by professionally-trained installers.

Alternatively, Wraptivo Individual is a more complex, innovative way to customize the appearance of a ride, while also protecting a car’s paint surface. This line will be sold exclusively through certified installers for the purpose of full-car wraps. At launch, Wraptivo Individual will offer the ‘Phantom Collection’ that is comprised of matte colors - white, olive, grey, black and metallic silgrey.

“Most people want to personalize their rides with a little flash – how much they want to customize is the basis for our division of the two lines,” said Wraptivo Business Development Manager, RJ de Vera. “We are giving consumers a new innovative way to change the personalities of their vehicles.”

Wraptivo Universal and Wraptivo Individual will be showcased on a modified Range Rover HSC and a mega-widebody BMW M3 in booth 24643, at the Las Vegase Covention Center. A live wrap transformation of a Chevy Camaro will also take place throughout the week. Wraptivo has also provided material for 15 other vehicles including a Honda CR-Z, Porsche Cayman, Lincoln MKX, BMW 335, 370Z, Dodge Challenger and Nissan GTR that will be seen at the SEMA show from Nov. 1-5.
